Description: Very Basic

It's not good as pro's one. But I did it for fun....
the car is from Hotwheels.....

The track is done by using low grit sandpaper.....
The leaked petrol is using glue..... ( for photography only)
Those are real sand that i glued to the base and remove excess
The divider is done using masking tape
please give reviews
thanks :)

This car look like it run over by a big foot. add some scattered glass around the bonet, look more real.

Nice n cute. ^_^

Not a bad attempt. The car wreckage are good, beside things that becky mention, I think the divider and sand is a bit over-scale.

Bty, nice work Cham

this must be a very fun project! though there r still room for improvement in details, but i just can't help but love it! cause it just looks so fun to build! and this is something i always wanna achieve when doing plamo.

love your dio!

The overall composition is quite well done Cham. My main comment would be on the size of the base. Unless you plan to add things like trees, figures, etc around the sand portion you have a bit too much empty or dead space in the dio making the car look small.

Not sure if it will help but when one views say a crashed dio most viewers will be curious how the car was damaged. So maybe some skid marks on the road would have helped and maybe some tyre marks on the sand portion as well. Since the roof is damaged it is also likely the car flipped over so perhaps there should be more dents in the car's side body. Petrol evaporates quite fast so it may not remain on the road or it may have soaked into the road. Engine oil is more likely to remain but even that it would have partially soaked into the road.

Although most of these are minor points they add to the overall realistic feel of the dio which is what a dio is mostly about a story and realism.

All in all a good effort and I look forward to your next dio.

hey cham... why don't use your evo kit for this diorama... heheh???

Cham, good try but I have some advise on the diorama...

To get a realistic diorama, you have to get to know the subject, even if you are just building a basic diorama... The Ferrari FXX body is fully made out of carbon fiber and the effect is different than metal.

I agree with beachbum on the points he has given. You also have to decide on the storyline for the diorama like where is the impact point that leads the car to flip and how the roof of the car is crushed (usually if a car is crushed on the roof, it will stay upside-down unless it has been turned right-side up).

Just a few comments but I think plastic model will be a better candidate for a car crash diorama... mabe you can try that in the future...

thanks for the replies..
this is just a first atempt to crush a diecast to be make into a diorama..
i have another one coming....
a crushed bmw......

koowilliams - October 7, 2008 03:53 AM (GMT)
the effect looks 90% similar to the 1st diorama i built with zero1st... also with real fine sand and some road...

come to think about it... to dent a diecast that scale need some serious pounding right...? did neighbours give you a strange look when they saw you knocking hard on the small little car?

Entau - October 7, 2008 07:44 AM (GMT)
cham u seems enjoy crushing ur diecast :P , try drive over with 1:1 car(joking :D )

u know... i'm not as fanatic as cham... but if i have a 1/1 performance car, with complete safety features, i would definitly give it a spin and twist and turn, run over a ramp, crash thru large glass window, anything that THRILL...

and i would definitely guarantee cham would do it harder than me...

cham2020 - October 8, 2008 03:09 AM (GMT)
sh....
hotwheels diecast are real solid...
i tried hammerign it but it's hard. so i put it under my 1:1 car tyre and roll it several times till it's dent then hammer it harder.......

my neighbours can't see what i am doing.. but my cat gave me a strange exprsesion
she has one hotwheels fxx as a toy too :P
