Title: What Have You Brought Today
Description: from LHS or via post

musangpulut - June 11, 2008 06:41 AM (GMT)
HI guys!

Since the prices of petrol has increased, I think i should open this tread so that if anyone here bought more plastic than needed, we can monitored it and give some lectures on "you should ubah your gaya hidup!"

Let start now.

This morning, I just received a parcel from Hong Kong contain :

1) Hasegawa 1/48 A-4B Skyhawk "Valion"
2) Hasegawa 1/48 A-4SU Skyhawk "Singapore Air Force"

Owh..how I luv the smell of fresh Hasegawa's plastic..ermmmm

Let see... since 'the' announcement, I still can control the urges - though I am eyeing on a Paragon Design's 1/48 Python 3 AA missile set for my F-15I Ra'am project.

Let's just hope that my finger won't 'accidentally' click on the 'Buy Me' button and subconciously send in the credit card info.

Must... resist... .

bro...Ra'am didnt use the ancient Phython 3 anymore. It's so yesteryear. Phyton 3 only used by F-15 Baz until 1995. Typical load for your Raam should be like this :

1) 1x 1/48 Paragon Design Phyton 4 (contain 2 unit of this missiles in 1 set)

2) 1X 1/48 Paragon Design AGM-142 Popeye ASM missile with datalink pod (contain 2 unit of this missiles in 1 set)

heheheheh

xamel1975 - June 11, 2008 06:59 AM (GMT)
Ah, yes... Python 4. The kit costs about RM56 (without shipping). Hmmm... tempting.

You're killing me, fox!

shahrs - June 11, 2008 07:03 AM (GMT)
Me just won myself MPC 1/72 AC-47 Gunship this morning at 4am.. Don't really seriously want to bid but accidently won the kit .. Don't know how much is market price but I believe the price is a bit higher (plus shipping = RM85) :P .. Why lah I bid for this old kit.. Should have use the fund to bid for the airbrush or the AMT/revell cars kit instead..

musangpulut - June 11, 2008 07:03 AM (GMT)
Okay, since I luv you and dont want to kill you, I give you an alternative for all these stuff. Paragon is too expensive for goverment servant like me.

you also can buy the Phyton 4 & popeye missile much much cheaper than Paragon at Eagle Designs. http://eagledesigns.50megs.com/home.html

It cater for many IAF stuffs especially for IAF nut like you.hahaha

Happy Hunting!

kerastangan - June 11, 2008 07:06 AM (GMT)
Those kits I bought in the previous week were probably the last for this year. Not only the cost of fuel (and almost everything else) forces me to tukar lifestyle, I'm also in the process of moving into a new house...so gotta stop buying for a while.

Loo CK - June 11, 2008 07:44 AM (GMT)
What I bought last week and this week will forever remain between HHQ, MH, TU, luckymodel and me, unless someone else catches me in the act and I don't mean my wife.

She knows and supports all my 'acquisitions'. More entries in my excel file....

Aiseh TJ,
what I did not tell you is what it takes for her to support my acquisitions.....

What I can share is that I have really been impressed with Eduard Models lately.
Superb kit in a superb package down to the instruction sheet.

So, who is the lucky fellow in Malaysia who bought the Red Baron planes? out of the 100 kits only worldwide....

i have been buying an average of 3 kits per month from HHQ/MH this year ...whoaa have to slow down now.....

victor - June 11, 2008 03:01 PM (GMT)
Been buying like org gila for the past few months. Since MH started that discount thing, i have practically ordered minimum 2 boxes from every new shipment coming in. I' also waiting for my parcel from LuckyModel. lucky me i'm not in K.L, if not i sure kena ban from LHS for life by HM. How i love my secret bank acc. ^_^ . I think everyone should have one. Better still 2. My problem is hiding my ever growing stash. HM did notice the pile getting higher and wider :(. My only remedy is built faster. I thought of ubah gaya hidup from buying to building but then again it seems that buying is more fun. Is this what we modellers call the point of no return?

The point of no return for a blackhole is called the Event Horizon. For modellers, it's the Modelling Horizon or simply just MH. Therefore, dropping into MH is literraly the point of no return for modellers.

I buy an average of 10 kits a week from HHQ, not including the stuff MH has sitting waiting for me to pick up, along with a few other kits in the Atria place. I have already fallen beyond the event horizon and am well on my way to hell.

Sekian, terima kasih.

My turn

I've slowed down a bit, nowadays, 2-3 per month from LHS. But if consider buying from forums (including this one), that is more than 30 kits extra. Then there are purchases from overseas including the Nimrod and Canberra (add another 10 kits). Still waiting for the Revell Hunters and Lancaster, plus Trumpy/Academy EE Lightning and Trumpy's 48th Sea Fury......the list is endless. :D

Think gotta buy a flat or something to store my kits

Alpha7 - June 13, 2008 02:59 AM (GMT)
I'm not exactly a frequent buyer and can go on plastic hunger strikes for months on end. That was until 3 months ago when I broke down. It all started innocently enough. I happened to be near HHQ and popped in for a stroll. Gatal so bought a braille scale T-72 to convert to a Pendekar. Went home feeling proud of myself for not splashing out.

Alas, the mind can play tricks on you. Few days later, I find myself going to MH because the Pendekar needed an M2 browning machine gun. So I ended up with a 1/72 Deuce and a Half truck. It didn't end there cause a few weeks later, I was back. This time for a Challenger 2, cause I needed tracks for my Pendekar. By then, itch had become a rash. It didn't help when Aidy offered to offload his IDF kits, MH having their mid-year sale and other temptations on eBay.

Since the petrol price increase, I have not stepped into an LHS. I have avoided eBay and told myself I can only buy kits after I reduce my stash. I think I can pull it off.. but awas, the mind can play tricks on you........

Have to agree with you A7. When I bought my Phantom, I belatedly realise that Hase kits are weaponless OOB. So rummaging through my spares box, I realise that I have run out of Sparrows and Sidewinders.....
