Title: Spiderman Yzr M1 Super Detailed
jezz - May 23, 2008 12:26 AM (GMT)
here is my nex build
tamiya yzr m1 2004
top studio detail set
hiro chain set
crazy modeler decals
tamiya front fork set
zero paint (spiderman)

here are the parts painted red they have had a coat of klear

all the rear end has had all the decals put on all this needs now is clear coat klear

for painting the blue section im going to try something a bit different

i have put all the web decals on 50% of the farings so far i will then give it a light coat of klear, then when fully dry i will mask up the webbed area and spray the blue hopefully this will work

he silver hex decals should go on perfectly.
And i will give it a coat of clear blue over the hex pattern, give the whole thing a final clear coating of the floor polish klear that i have used in previous builds
A quick update on the build i have now done all the web decals on the bike now after a light coat of klear i will mask it up and paint the blue area and add the silver hex decals

have now painted the blue it came out perfect i was a bit worried that the decals would lift with the masking tape was removed but i peeled it carefully and it worked, i have only just put some klear on and i will put another coat on and then polish its all ready for the other decals
Here are the pictures i am really chuffed with this so far

all the body has been test fitted on frame it all lines up great

what do you guys think
i have put the other declas on the tank seat and front fender thesare the most akward one i have ever done got there in the end though.

all taht is lest fir the other decals is the side panels and front cowling and and mask up again then i will put clear blue over the silver hex decals and future final coat

just a quick picture to keep you all going i have dug out another frame from one of my other yzr as i am not using the top studio set now im going to kep it for another build i think and i had started to chop the frame about so i have build the new frame up and testfitting part before i prime and spray black just thought i would get quick picture of it with its bling on looks nice dont it i am really pleased with this so far but i might put it away for a few days as i have spend every night on the bodywork this week and i need a break from it before i cock up something so this should keep you going till i come back?......

aahhhh this chain has not gone well at all i have decided not to use this as the way the links are joined together is not very neat you have to use a hot metal object (i use a pin head) to get a nice round rivet shape but no matter how hard i tryed it did not look right i think next time i use one i will get the top studio set as that looks a lot better to work with so sorry if you was looking forward to seeing this made but i dont want to put it on the bile and spoil the overall finish to the bike
Entau - May 28, 2008 03:16 AM (GMT)
what a waste... u must be quite dissappointed, if the chain was working well this going to be a super bike

decals have been added on the wheels and need a final coat of clear

C/F part have had the my treatment of the stocking stretched over the black parts and gun metal has been dusted over the part and cleared

i do have the fork set to put on also
The seat has been dipped in embossing powder on wet black paint and excess powder removed then i sprayed mat black to seal it on this works for me very well

Jezz,
this is one of the best bike model I've seen, nice effect on the exhaust. Just one suggestion, if u add some black wash on the (suppose to be hole) rear disc brake, it'll look perfect.
