Title: Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione
Description: 1/43rd scale build by hand.....
dremel - March 24, 2008 02:41 AM (GMT)
Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
WOW look at the color.....so outstanding rite??
This is the first hand built model car that I wish to finished this year…I miss the headache  ….has been started in may 2007, this is consider an a-z hand build model starting from 2D pic’s to drawing, scratch building, molding and finishing….yup its long way to go. Hope I have energy to see the finish product…
Yes I’ve been in this job before. Just to make sure that I gain a wonderful experience even though I did not get what I call appreciation to having the talent  .
I choose the subject because of the color; shape (sexy) and there’re so many pics’ that show an angle which is easier to draw with.
This shape is very hard to get the balancing correctly; therefore I’d to use a lighting to see an invisible line in order to get the guide line.
Let start the W.I.P…
My favorite’s materials epoxy bondite
This shape was built trough drawing that’s I’d drawn.

That’s all for now….will see you all again….
C&C are welcome…
KEEP UP MODELING….

Looking forward for more. :D
druid_99 - March 24, 2008 03:01 AM (GMT)
Hahaha... finally this sexy car made its way into the forum...
Like I said before again and again, I'm amazed on how you're able to create 3D
object from a few 2D pictures with only some pictures available...
Can't wait to see more... :D

Kenneth - March 24, 2008 10:45 AM (GMT)
Dremel,
Nice to see you posting up one of your scratch built cars. I know you had been working for the Oon Brothers scratch building these alfas and finally it is in here. It would be a great example to the world of auto modellers that there is a good malaysian guy who can do such stuff. I really look forward to seeing more WIPs!
Oh! please lah! my polishing works are no as good as you guys think lah! ;)

yup ,thanks Kenneth ;) I'll forward this W.I.P to other forum out there as usual. Hope they will drop by to our forum and observe at what we can do here.
And I've always study from thier comments as well to upgrade our skill.
FYI, this alfas 100% creations is mine and not related to any handmade company or what so ever. Now I'm in my way.....independent model maker :D
Thanks for your support , I'll appreciate it ;)
dremel - March 24, 2008 11:32 AM (GMT)
mr b, I'll check in supercar.net....hope can find some nice angel to start wif drawing first ;)
dremel - March 24, 2008 08:36 PM (GMT)
New pic's uploaded.....
Try to get the right curve, balancing, proportions, invisible line and the rough shape at the 2nd stage. And always draw the centre line as a guide. This stage is the harder task because that is the master plan to build up the next stage.

Thats all for the time be.....I'll upload a few more update....
P/s- thats is how i practice recribing panel line without using any template
Thanks for viewing.... :D
Kenneth - March 25, 2008 02:55 AM (GMT)
Nice updates. Is this gonna be a master mold? It would be very interesting to see it completed. ;)
druid_99 - March 25, 2008 03:23 AM (GMT)
Can't wait to see how you tackle the headlight cluster. The shape is coming along nicely. :)
xamel1975 - March 25, 2008 03:38 AM (GMT)
My only negative comment is that I would prefer it to be in 1/24th scale!
Looking good, Naza. Maybe you can bring this over at Cineleisure this weekend for closer look.
dremel - March 25, 2008 04:52 AM (GMT)
Kenneth, druid_99,xamel1975-Thanks for your support...This one not going to be fast.....i'll try my best....still got a lot of things to prepare...
Harman, hand built model car the best is 1/43.....1/24 market not so good....

Alfa 1
Hi guys update time….
Actually I’ve no idea where exactly the positions/seize of the head ligh and rear light….I’d been always drill to where that I feel close enough….than I’ll keep add putty and drill till I got the closer positions when I compare to the pic’s.
Hope this pic’s will describe what I mean with….

And slowly refine the shape ….this task will take some time…..this is not the final master yet….

Will upload some more …..
Thanks for viewing…..C & C are welcome….

YGTan - March 28, 2008 05:16 AM (GMT)
Very good progress. The head lights looks great. BTW, how are you going to handle the clear parts? Especially the lights, with all the "lines" on the inside.
I think you should recast this baby and start selling them :D
mr b - March 28, 2008 10:45 AM (GMT)
You are a true craftsman.......
Lovely work .....I agree with YG ....recast and sell.......bro.....

Alfa 2
Here after sanding, putty, sanding putty ….but this one also need to re fine, sanding, refind sanding…..hahaha…this one needs a lot of patient and times consuming…. :D
Gambarlah pulak…. ;)

Not only that’s….I’d to korek inside of the body to get a right thickness. Must at least 1.5 mm and max are 2mm more and lesslah….

Thanks for viewing….
See you…C & C are welcome…. :D
Kenneth - March 31, 2008 04:00 AM (GMT)
Wow! good koreking work there man! With the kind of thickness. Isn't it a little risky? you might korek too much and leave a hole. Heheheheh! Aiyah you good at korek lobang huh! make sure to korek the right one!

Works on interior…
I really like working with epoxy bondite….try to get the rough shape less than 1 hour….
Its will speed the process. ….this stage are a lot of calculations involve….otherwise its will a big problem on fitting….

That’s all about it….will up load an interior after refine and primer….
See you…C & C are welcome… :D
PcEvo - April 8, 2008 11:08 AM (GMT)

Stay tune….there a lot more progress …btw I might skip 1 or 2 process….because I’ve to keep it as a confidential…hahaha skit only
