Wah... it's been quite some time since your last visit here. I think I know the type of car you're trying to replicate.
Initial stage looks good. Can't wait to see more progress on this.
As for the rims, I don't think you're able to source it from any local model shop but you can still get it from the online shops though (I think).

danone3001,
You can refer to this blog
Auto Otaku for some reference. It's a blogsite that's more focused on Ol' Skool Japanese Tuning scene, with some current events too, of course.
Some entries related to your build:

hye guys... sorry for the long update.. im bz with my final sem exam.. hehe... i still stick to my original style concept which is 'bosozoku' and heres the progress so far...
had coloured the interior part using purple pearl from elianto nail polish.. i choose purple colour based on my research on 'bosozoku's style where the interior part usually wrap with colour such as purple, maroon, brown and colour like that.. thanx to my gf for the help.. actually colouring using nail polish is not easy as i think so i have to ask my gf for help.. hehe..

final touch-up for the bodykit... all built according to the 'bosozoku' style...

then...

test fit the kit....

next stage...
i planned to coloured it silver with metallic purple stripes and 'bosozoku's decal.. (where to find one? help plz... ).... as for the rims i think i'll try to fit it with 1/32 tamiya motorized kit wheel with a bit modification... so its a long way to go...

That Nail polish color looks good, fitting choice, keep it comin.

One advice on the nail polish paint... Test first if it is ok to be clear coated. Mine reacts badly with the clear coat and even worse with Gunze surfacer. It cracks like nobodys business...

sorry to hi-jack this thread..
druid.. say if cracking "might" happen.. how long does it usually takes to wait for the crack to appear?
coz last time i tried industrial clear, everthing looks ok to me.. but after 2-3 months i realized there was micro-crack on the clear layer.. :ph43r:
druid_99 - May 14, 2008 04:07 AM (GMT)
It depends... when I tried it, the result is almost instantaneously...
I think your problem with cracks appearing after 2 to 3 months is not because of the reaction of the clear coat with the paint but mainly because the base paint did not have the sufficient time to "gas-out" or properly dry before you apply the clear coat.
Usually I will let the base paint about a week or more of drying time before the first layer of clear coat.
