Title: 1/100 Bourbon Orca Explorer Vessel....
Description: Another scratchbuilt....another headache
dremel - December 21, 2007 07:03 PM (GMT)
Happy longggg holiday my friends, forumers and viewers….. :D
Welcome to my newest scratch built subject…”Bourbon Orca Explorer Vessel “(I think so  ).Feel free to visit the link-
http://www.tugboats.de/bourbon_orca_article.htmlhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=Mqcpe5au_7M Commissions build for one of Oil N Gas Company. It is not my taste BTW, but I have enjoyed a lot during the progress. Work up base on 1/100 scale and the worst part was, this project has no blueprint provided. Therefore, I’ve to used my imaginations and simple outline drawings have to be sketch. I’m not even know how the bottom hull looks like. I just base on reference that’s I’ve download from internet.
As usual there are still in primitive way though…High impact as a frame and polly putty….and sanding like hellll.
Enjoy the W.I.P...... :D

To be continue on the next post.....Stay tune... :D

Great work, Naza.
Reminds me of the time when Imran and I (and few other friends as well) did a set of ship for a local company. Working without blueprint can be a headache. Everything main agak2 je. ;)

Really impressive scratchbuilding work there Naza. At first I think the shape is odd but after taking a look of the picture of the actual boat, your build looks very similar to the actual. Good job.... :)

Totally superb build. After seeing the parts that is assembled baru perasan there's a lot of parts needs to be build and added on the vessel.
One question, the ladder guard (yang curve dekat both sides of the control deck), do you paint the body and attache the ladder guard later or assemble everything and then paint?

Druidd-99- This project i tried to build all the part and paint it separately, including the two ladder,in fact there're a lot of part to scaratchbuilt,so i've to make it in group.Ladder and propeller are the tough part to make,so i've to put them at last group to build.I'll show you on the next post soon. :)
Thanks bro ;)
modelstarter- Thanks bro ;)

Lillbit update.......
Hull painting progress....
Hull red i used aerosol brand A/R Primer no.19.For the green color was aerosol gloss green and i sprayed a layer of aerosol candy green.

Fist layer of green was a gloss white and i had masked the 'B' and sprayed a green after that.....sorry no photo of the process :(
This Vessel too big....you can see all my messy workbench
Next post please :D
dremel - December 31, 2007 06:33 PM (GMT)
Here another dry fitting with the part thats i had done,to see the color match...tried to take photo with the black background as well....

I think its not good enough...must use a lighter color for the background
This is not the final product for sure....still got plenty of parts to add on....hope this Vessel can turn out better than my previouse project.....
See you....and HAPPY NEW YEAR
As usual comment and critic are welcome :D
druid_99 - January 2, 2008 03:32 AM (GMT)
Wow, it looks better and better on every post. Really nampak sebiji like the real one...
As for the background, I would suggest you to use light blue background like the ones I use for photographing my models. White should be ok tapi since the ship has white surface, it will not look good with white background...
One more thing... rasanya you need to set up a studio for photographing your model (no need extra room)... Make it a standardized setup since the progress and the photo of your build models will be added in your personal portfolio.
Invest in a tripod (the RM20 to RM30 ones with height adjustment is good enough) for the camera for stability during photo shoot and get a couple of white desk lamp for lighting. If you need help on the studio set-up, I can try to assist you... :D

Hahaha... somehow I forgot to comment on the latest progress...
You scratchbuild even the propeller!!??? Now that's what I really call scratchbuilding... No substitute from otehr model kits whatsoever...
As I can recall, two of the propeller is located somewhere in the middle of the hull of the ship is it? Can't wait to see it attached and finished...
Excellent work there bro... :D
dremel - January 4, 2008 06:57 AM (GMT)
