Joeker - October 28, 2007 03:38 PM (GMT)
Dear Sifus of dioramas,

My first dio. Its suppose to be seabed but alot of frens say it looks like desert if it was not for the sub.

C&C is most welcome.

Nice camo, Joeker. As for your friend's comment; at first glance, yes, I think many would think that this is a desert diorama. You can improve it by adding a tainted clear acrylics on the four corners as seen on this example.

Other than that, the dio looks great. Tha Zaku looks menacing and I can you you added some details too it.

Good job!

Very nice build Joeker!! Managed to see it up close, very nice indeed. I like the weathering effect you did on both the Zaku and the sub, really nice.

Actually, my first impression was the Zaku flying over a desert, until I saw the sub. Maybe you should add in some seaweed and coral or some other undersea thing to bring out the environment more. Adding a shark or some other big fish swimming away from the Zaku might help too. Anyway, just my 2 cents.

First off I like the pose of the Zaku when I first saw a pic of it at the link RX-78-2 put up of the Bakuc entries. Kind of reminds me of the movie Rocketeer. The weathering is good as it makes it much more interesting and I see you've added a U-boat insignia to its right shoulder. The suggestions given by Xamel and YG are good if you are looking to push this further.

Tinted blue glass as suggested by Xamel will ensure that viewers know its a underwater scene and additions like seaweed, corals and even a shark as YG mentioned will enhance the underwater scene significantly. Other ways to indicate water is ripple effect on the sandy bottom.

A good effort and a nice dio with a lot of potential to push it further.

Nice work Joeker. Like YG said, some swaying seaweeds would have given the viewer a clearer idea that it was set underwater. Otherwise, its a very good composition and I look forward to seeing more from you!
