Perghh. Really nice model u have built

Interesting idea for a dio Dremel. Dios involving movement is not easy to do. Nice little details like the skid tyre marks on runway and of course the plane is impressive. Just my opinion though and its just a small suggestion for future dios, most dio makers try to avoid having lines parallel to the base. Having say a road or a runway sit at diagonal to the base tends to make the dio more interesting(the front view of your dio will look like your 3rd. photo). In this case if the nose of the plane was facing slightly to the front or to one corner with the runway diagonal to the front of the base would allow the viewer a more 360 degree view of the plane as opposed to just a nose to tail sideview.

The only small thingy is adding runway lights and maybe distance markers on the grass to make the dio more interesting and detailed. Of course to make the story even more interesting if you have the time is to add even fire engines or emergency vehicles at the side apron. This will add to the tension of the dio, supporting the story of the plane making an emergency stop.

Only suggestions lah as its a nicely done vignette.

i was looking at the "drag-chute" advertisement in the Perajurit magazine yesterday and think how to incorporate this in a aircraft dio... and today here you're with the exact dio with the drag-chute....

hmmm let see what else should i think and by luck you'll create that as well dremel..

nice one!! :D

Dremel,

You really are THE MAN. Beautiful build as always. I am planning to build this big bird as well and would also like to secure it to the wall. Hope you dont mind if I ask a few newbie questions.

1) How did you secure the Mig to the base? Did you reinforce the landing gear with metal and install pins perhaps?
2) Did you scratchbuild the refuling probe or are there any aftermarket parts available?
3) Would appreciate if you could perhaps share what mods are required on the revell kit to accurize it to the Malaysian version.

Thanks a bunch!

Another fantastic build Naza. Don't know if got chance to look at it up close.

Naza,

Kau ni memang terror, moving stuff are verry hard to reproduce.

Loo CK - September 24, 2007 08:44 AM (GMT)
very nice Naza,
I thought it would have been even more dramatic if the airbrakes were deployed, flaps down, LED lights installed, ...
Of course I wouldn't have suggested it if I knew you cannot pull it off. With your skills, makan kacanglah bro.
BTW agreed with Ck, patut, off simetri sikit. Lebih dramatik.

f100supersabre,shahrs,musangpulut,mr.b,blackheart,-Thanks for all kinds of words my friends,I will appriciate it ;) you all make me tough to face the next task.

Druid_99-Thanks bro,yup you came on Hari Raya (Open house) if i'm not mistaken. Ada orang malulah aku nak tunjuk paper cut tu.We haven't got time to look at my mess and messy workshop as well.

One of the paper cut is from Nanyang Siang Pou (i think so).Untill now i donno what they talk about me :D ,maybe somebody can discribe for me one day.

beachbum-Thanks bro,i always learn something from your commentsAbsalutely agree with you,i wish got time to add lillbit more to make it busy.

The bigest mistake i did was-this birds not in landing mode, but cruising

kuman-Let me read your mind  ....Aircraft landing with arrester hook? :P betul?

koowilliams -No problem ;) I will proud to share something on the progress though. ;)

Naza.. you are my HERO... :D

dremel - September 24, 2007 09:19 AM (GMT)
kindredd-i have to make it strong because i got info from client, this bird will transport by C-130.I dont think this dio will carry by a modeller as well.

ok

q1-I fill up centre of the fuselarge with polly putty to make it solid.than complete your aircraft as usual, eccept landing gear.Drill two hole for copper wire(3mm).Copper wire must be longer than your landing gear. than you fix the undercariage as usual.Drill two hole to your base or wall.Than install, you must use 3 ton clear epoxy(5 min drying time) to fix it.

q2-Yup scratchbuilt myself,in-fact i got cast some.if you intrested i can bring it to cineleisure this weekend ;)

q3-Not much, just add refueling probe and IFR Probe Fuel line..

But to tell the truth...this kit is out of shape.esspecially nozzle, nose, air intake till the back and few thing here and there.BTW its still look ok for me.

YGTan-Me too, hope can show you the close up one, anyway i heard this bird also will be display at LIMA.(not sure yet)

BV-What to do vince, cari makan .must get it fast ;)

Loo Ck-Thanks bro,i'll try to improve it.anyway bro, your skill much better than melah ;)

Well, it's a pretty nice diorama Dremel, first i like a "logical whole" to the colours, and the idea is good too -what i would have make different would have been the scale, in 1/32 you must have a big house :D
About what Mr Beachbum says, hey, i don't necessary agree here, though indeed parallel lines are to avoid in a diorama, here the scene would not have work so well if it was to be set on a diagonal -the parallel lines really reinforce the appearance of speed in my opinion, this is even more because of the way the tarmac has been built, there's a kind of "blurred" feeling about the whole,
all in all an interesting and original composition, congratulations and keep well!

JB,

Thanks JB,what can I say, I’m sure every body will proud if they got comment and encouragement came from one of the best dio builder in the world. So I am.

Honestly, I only have 1 week to complete the whole dio.Because that was built for the client. I’ve to be choosed on parallel line because that was an easier for me to work with.Especially to describe the speed on the dio that what you mentioned. I Just need an airbrush and pastel stroke on the tarmac and a bit of shade on the aircraft to give an air flow and speed effect. To tell the truth this dio consider too narrow for 1/32 scale (26inchx40inch).That was maximum from what client request.I will need at least 30inchx50inch to make it busy like what Mr.Beachbum suggested.

BTW,Diagonal set was right as well, but I will need sometimes to balance the space with something related.Again, that’s will need a space and money.Otherwise the dio will look weird in my opinion.6 days working was a bit tough for me as well.Anyway thanks very much for both of you.I’ll appreciate it.

P/s.JB, I don’t have a big house,but I have a big dream………. :)
