Title: Aircraft Display Stand
Description: How i make .......
dremel - June 24, 2007 07:50 PM (GMT)
Just see the photo and i'm sure you all know what to do.... :D

I used NT cutter for plywood and perspect cutter for clear perspect

Make sure your stand stick vertically(clear epoxy will do)

Mask clear plastic and apply body putty on the plywood base, let it dry and send it off

Apply 1st primer and fill small hole and uneven surface with tamiya putty

2nd sending will need, to make it smoth than apply last primer

Paint it with flatblack or what ever colour you like

Take out the masking tape

And your aircraft is flying now....   Selamat Mencuba..... :D

you can get it from yellowpages..look for perspex supplier
moJimbo - July 15, 2008 02:05 PM (GMT)
ooo... camtu simple je ye... but how do u usually fix the jet to the top of the stand? permanent or temporary joints? glue or screws? do u drill holes underside of the aircraft? any pics? fuhhh banyak soalan aku ni
razmanosaurex - July 15, 2008 03:48 PM (GMT)
sifu dremel....aku potong plastik patah da....ape razor yg sesuai? n what kind of plastic yg ok? aku punye plastic lembek semacam la.
dremel - July 15, 2008 03:56 PM (GMT)
Silantra- plywood 3mm, you can cut by using a normal cutter, slice it and bend it abit, slice a few more times to cut it. Always cut out of the line first, and folow by cuting closer to the line that you want.
kwongyan- I bought it at Toh Plastic , Jln Tun Razak, tel-03-40417549, ask for location. I alway bought hight impact plastic from them, when i was there i'll ask the taukeh for left over perspect thats he dont want. Sometimes i got it free, as for a big pice he will ask for 3-4 ringit. hehehe
moJimbo- i would like to put it temporary, just slot it in. yup kena drill lubang. pics kena tunggu next a.craft-F-15J White Dragon.
I know sometimes i feel sayang to drill the hole, but what you can do is, spray a normal sticker with a same color as a belly, cut it slightly biger than the hole and stick it on if we want to display it without stand.
2 cents
Naza

What kind of plastic u meant?....u can use a normal blade for high impact plastic. As for a perspect i used perspect cutter.

Razman, kau pakai plastik untuk transparency ke yang lembik semacam tu? Hehehe...
Rasanya kalau perspex tu, kena cari yang tebal sikit macam dalam 1mm to 1.5mm, betul tak Naza?

perspect 1mm too thin bro takut goyang2., TA-4PTM i used 2mm, Air to Air Dio 3mm or 4mm tak sure.
2mm is easier to cut with perspex cutter. 3mm and above we need dremel machine disc.
Silantra - July 16, 2008 04:49 AM (GMT)
bro,

thomas,
some called it P cutter...
it look something like this

so many brands out there, olfa, tamiya..
i used the one specifically for perspex..forgot the brand but the blade is thinner.. means smaller v groove

beachbum - July 18, 2008 09:09 AM (GMT)
Naza this is a quick, cheap and simple way to make a great stand. Many thanks for this excellent tip.
I'm going to pindah this to the aircraft section and pin it as I'm sure many modellers would find this very useful.

yup....glue a small piece clear perspex as you can see there. drill 2 hole and copper rod and slot it in.
razmanosaurex-yeah bro make it cheaper, if u jumpa kat tepi jln any kind of plastic or rod, make sure to keep it....its ight usefull for our hobby...ehe
beachbum- Thanks so much bro....i appreciate it ;)
azlandiver - July 21, 2008 03:52 AM (GMT)

better bukak class la
kenakan fee skit
razmanosaurex - October 1, 2009 05:19 AM (GMT)
naza sifu...aku dah follow tips hang. cume aku ubah sikit la..tq
dremel - October 1, 2009 05:51 AM (GMT)
azlandiver,razmanosaurex,- slamat mencuba...btw...that is just a guide line...there're so many way to works with it, as a base u can change it to clear perspec, plaster of paris with your own design, u can buy a jelutong wood from multifilla as a base, infact we can forget about the base, just drill hole to your tv or kayu jati cabinet and put the stand on...
as a stand, u can use copper rod, hight impact pastic, creat ur own design, clear rod, kat toh plastik ada banyk jual and very cheap, etc...
mazrilhisham- nolah bro....saya takda bakat utk mengajar, no skill in comunications thou......btw if 1 day, people really think what i've now is worth it to learn....mybe i try to write a book about what i think about modelmaking/scratchbuilding and how to start it from zero/cheap, simple metematik,...all kampung style.... :D .
