to support the massive events, another u-boat is called to perform duty into the sea.
This is revell 1/144 type VII D .. build out of the box and thanks to RX-78-2 aka Ah Wee aka Awie for lending me his compressor...these photos are taken last night after the sub is given Mr Surfacer 1000 primer a few coats...
some pf the wip photos,

boss,
production rate going up like the stock market..hehe.....
loo, ye i hope sope and pray nothing unwanted will happen..
ok..i did continue the build but forgot to take photos...
all i can say that this kit really test my nerve man!! i almost throw the kit away as i continue building it...
many of the reason like:
1. so many small parts that a fragile... many small parts broken will i carefully cut them from the sprue..they will either broke or bent and broke will i try to rebend them... arghhhh....one must have a very good patience dealing with these kit
2. the fit on some parts are poor...
i have to fill the join and then spray with surfacer .. i used so many filling method from putty, milliput, plastic strips, stretched sprue, superglue and extensive sanding with various grit sandpaper.... and then reapply the primer.. and then i saw another gap ..imperfections....man..i really wanna throw away the kit at this stage..
compare to her 1/72 cousins which dated earlier than this kit, i assume this kit is much more better but my guess was wrong here!!! the kit simply doesn't cope with the standard.. sorry guys i feel that i have to vent it out here coz this delayed my build..
3. the conning tower is another story... the fitting is bad...poor join..i have to cut the guide point to make sure it fits...the sopport ring doesnt sit properly at the curve...trying to make it fit, it broke!! arghhhhhh....
so many parts are broken and trying to fix such small part with smaller contact surface is a nightmare...
current status, i need to fill the long gap between the conning tower ... and then sand them which is the process i hate the most....
ok guys..i will update soon and please pray for me..!!!
hehe
thanks for listening to the vented 'air'
some update..
well after so many frustration, i continue finishing this build and hoping nothing will happen again....smooth sail till the end..
i sprayed all color using Gunze Sangyo Aqueous paints....
little preshading job were done to the panel/welding joins ..
here's the output...

as usual, comments are welcome....
thanks for viewing
Boss,
very nice preshading effect. The silhoutte of the sub is very sexy too!
I have never enjoyed doing raised panel kits. How are you doing the wash when there is no recess?

tauke Loo,
thanks for your comments...
there is recess on the deck... the rest are all raised welding joint...and many tiny nuts and bolts (or rivets) along the side of the hull...well i enjoy preshading this sub...
the recessed deck will be wash too..
hey, expert like you sure know how to wash raised panels...subtle washing will leave some small amount of wash along the raised welding joint...
