Title: 50th Merdeka GB: 1/72 F-5E Tiger II
masterqq - April 3, 2007 02:30 AM (GMT)
Was getting so Gatai about this tiger and immediately start one over the long weekend... sorta like a Tiger Balm to ease my gatai...
this is the italeri one, definitely batter than the MHM one, even with raise line..

I may even put in a Hasegawa Sabre, this is the worse Hasegawa kit to my opinion..see thro intake, no office, no wheels bay..

Hahaha.... come, come join the fun.
Which scheme will you be building this Tiger? Flying or landing position?
masterqq - April 3, 2007 03:06 AM (GMT)
druid_99, semua you punya pasal lah, get me so itchy to start this one... :D
I will be doing the 80's No 12 Skn one, mean rounder, lightning scorpion and 3 tone gray camo, the tiger will be with wheels down, and may be the sabre with wheels up since there is no wheel bay.

masterqq - April 23, 2007 02:54 AM (GMT)
Thanks Guys... and some more update on the Sabre...

Decals are on, except the cobra on the tail. Decal is spare to be by an Indonesian modeler, It is quite translucent. I should have use the Hobbycraft tutor decal.
This will not be an accurate built, because the Avon Sabre fuselage is not quite the same as the standard Sabre, what I did was remove the 2 extra cannon hole and scribed the line... I also blocked the see thro intake with a small toothpaste cap.

Looking good masterqq....
how to paint proper camo.. can give tips?
from what i understand... will be like following
1. paint the base color (to cover all the craft)
2. masked/use blu tac abounr the specific place as accordance to the camo we wanted.
3. masked the rest..
4. Paint the camo color...
correct :D
thanks man

Thomas, how do you do the canopy opening mechanism?
masterqq - May 15, 2007 07:55 AM (GMT)
B, thanks... yes the blue is a bit out. will do a batter mix in future build.
Hairil, yah.. the canopy opening mechanism was taken from the Italeri F-5A kit. however, I added a section of F-18 tank as shown in the photo below. the hornet's tank match the F-5 canopy perfectly.

Thomas this is going to look reaaaal good and the runaway and insignia badge makes it even better. You know me I know hardly anything about planes but I do have a weak spot for dios and the tarmac here is very well done. Another beauty for the GB lineup.
Boss looks like you plane guys will steal the show. Boss pity we still don't have enough ground entries (AFV, dios, figs) under than what is already in progress.
mr b - May 22, 2007 10:42 AM (GMT)

guys, thaks.....
Beachbum,
Yes, we need more gound entry.. I'll see If I can do a vignette or a AFV..
B,
The tarmac is a piece of cardboard, I spray the grays left over in the airbrush during painting session on my tiger randomly on the cardboard. Finally I mist a coat of Tamiya buff over all the surface...
