Mr. B,
Nice dio. Like the ground work and idea.
Did the crew survive the shoot-down?
As for title, how about "Bursting the bubble", since it has a bubble shaped canopy?

Nice work Mr b.
How did you do the water?
As for title, how about 'Harvesting the field"?
beachbum - January 3, 2007 12:56 AM (GMT)
Very nicely done Mr. B. I always enjoy non-combat dios as its generally tougher to tell a story. The crashed chopper is obviously in "Indian" country as suggested by the nearby VC is dramatically posed. The water came out well too. I liked how the bubble canopy is dirtied up. Did these Sikorskys (I think) have perspex or glass canopies?
Hmm....a title how about:
1. A "Soft" Landing
2. Bad day at the Office
3. Honey, I think someone parked their chopper in our backyard.

B, nice one.. wah.. switch to Diorama now ha..
My choice of title will be
"Litle Bird Down"
PoohBear - January 3, 2007 01:53 AM (GMT)
How about "Site Survey" for a title?
Representative of the wreck being 'surveyed' by the Vietnamese.

WOW! Amazing diorama Mr. B!
Beautifully done!
I'm re-discovering my love of models - last one I did was about 17 year ago - and they were all 'nam related - Huey, M113 etc. I even had a go at some dio' too.
Hoping to do a nice build on an Academy Huey and maybe incorporate it into a dio.
I don't see where the Huey fits into the crash scene - this must be a seperate dio - do you have any more photos of the Huey?

Beautiful dio Mr B. I particularly like 'Nam dios.

Namfreak - The huey is a static build....but it was in my nam folder so I added it in will add somemore shots once Photobucket can upload faster........
Rt- Lovely Huey man..........love the stuff in it.........You must put it into a diorama...it screams for such with your "shrinking" ray technology ........some huts and kampung setting will not be too difficult.............or landing into a hot lz
Thanks

Thanks B,
The close-ups showed some very rough finishing though.
Thinking about a simple pre-flight check and a stick of grunts ready to board but waiting around for the order. Some of their stuff is on board already.
Richard.

@rtfoe - Amazing job on the UH - 1D! Is that Revell's 1/32 scale kit?.
Yeah that's screaming out to be incorporated into a diorama!
@mr.b - Looking forward to seeing some more pics of your Huey!
Glad to see there's some guys that are interested in the Vietnam era thing. I've just taken delivery of the "Huey Walk Around" book -wow! Amazing for the details in it.

Thanks, Namfreak. Yup it's the Revell 1/32 alright. Very old kit that needs a lot of extras especially the cabin.
The Dio wil have to take a back seat for now. Currently working on a few projects. Who knows, I might just start one just to break monotony of WW2 subjects.
"Huey Walk Around" you say. That's one great asset for details to your Huey Project.
Look forward to your build.
Cheers,
Richard.
