i know some people have a few hobbies running simultaneously with the Scale Modelling hobby of ours...

for start let me list some of my hobby from previous life and still is continuing until today.. :)

1. Collecting Stamps ( although not as "furious" as i once were)
2. Planet Hollywood / Hard Rock Cafe shotglasses (.. still looking for more.. anyone willing to help?)
3. University Shotglass & Pennant (very popular item back in my study years)

Lately, I started a serious collection on avaition and space collar pin.

My other hobby is Radio Control stuffs, be it cars ,trucks, helis or planes. I thought that it is a natural progression from static display models to models that can 'go'.
Used to race during Uni times, but cost is very high due to maintenance,equipment,etc.
So now is more content with just tooling around with brother in law or fly the heli /plane occasionally. It really does give a break from making models.
Next target is the RC Tank from Tamiya. Woohooo....

1. reading books: non fiction- anything on ww2, or fiction by tom clancy et. al... comics: calvin & hobbes, and zits.
2. photography... a bit rusty though, my eos500 SLR is collecting dust in the closet.
3. computer games... FPS or flight sims games only
4. travelling to someplace hilly and cool e.g: genting etc.
5. collecting keychains: a must-do on my travels.

Other hobbies huh :huh: In fact plastic modelling is my latest hobby ;)

Started off collecting stamps since primary school. Still continuing it, but kind of in slight hibernation state <_< ...stamps quality in M'sia is not as good ady.

At one point i was collecting those shiny bling bling playcards from Dragonball. Used to bug my sis to give me 50cents to tikam...hahaha...now all those cards r in cold storage under my bed :lol:

In fact, collecting those bling bling cards r due to influence from comics (dragonball, slam dunk, Fung Wan). Juz like the way they draw the comics out, especially Fung Wan (now not nice ady).

Then now upgrade to watching Anime like GSD, Bleach, Mushishi, etc. Actually, it was wacthing Gundam anime that makes me fall in love wif plastic gundam modelling.

Seems like an evolution huh...wats next after plastic modelling ha? :rolleyes:

Computer games not so much ady..mayb getting old :lol:

for me, it's a cycle...

now, model kits
i'll wait for my comics to pile-up, and then do a weeks worth of reading
if i get bored with both, i'll switch on the ps2

but now, father is getting old and i might just continue on with his stamp and first day cover collection (which goes all the way back to the 1960s.... :o )

Mine would be:

- Photography
- Autograph hunting (MotoGP & F1 - Got pix with a few of the MotoGP and F1 drivers :D )
- Movies and the idiot box
- action figures & statues (McFarlane, candy toys, Weta Lord of the Rings busts etc)
- PC games
- reading books

Hard to believe that I actually have time for work! :lol:

hmm... barely have time for anything else other than plastic modelling..

But I use to draw comics.. Play street fighter at least 2 hrs/day... watch all the anime I can get...

But now.. married with children...there goes 90% of my personal time :)

interesting topic though i've been thinking what are my other hobbies..well it's been years that i dont cheat on my modelling hobby...

my old hobbies:

1. stamps and FDC (still collecting some of old and rare stuff)
2. jungle/mountain activities....last one was in 2000
3. sports
4. water sports - kayak
5. wood working (yes..i can cut wood too)
6. karaoke (hehehehehe)

Forgot to add... I also collect Hot Wheels toy cars. All of the cars is still in mint condition and still in its box. :D

Music - mainly Rock music but I do sometime listen to other stuff too. Not a fan of MTV stuff.... I'm talking about "real music".

Movies - used to go to cinema once or twice a month. Now being a father to a 5 mths old... layan DVD je la.

Cars - love cars, drive fast, do a bit of modification on my ride. But since fuel price hike, I pay less attention to this "hobby".

Comics - now a regular Spawn comic collector. Used to have lots of other comic but have to cut down since higher exchange rate. I wonder what happened to Dale Keown's Pitt series?

Idiot box - first thing I turn on when I got home from work... :lol:

Die-cast collection - Got a lot of Matchbox n Hotwheel stuff. This hobby has been taken over by modelling now.

Oh, sometimes I cook too...

Em... beside modelling.....
Drawing - Start since when i was primary school stop till when i get into work....Last time draw most of comic. When college assignment n sketching n some concept art.

3D animation - hehehe... The most major thing i do for "last time" in college.. now working field not same.. stop for a period..

Movie - Most i like is Sci-Fi type/ war.. but recently start like to watch comedy....Anime..
very crazy to Macross, Ghost in the Shell.... but now start finding some comedy anime also....(recently watch Tactical Roar & School Rumble & Tokimeki)

Other... i think i easy give up for other hobby... such as collect stamp.. stop since secondary school, same as swimming. N now lot Book at my house which never read by me yet....... :P

Well it all started back at LIMA. I ventured here selling souvenir to earn some duit poket. (If I knew better I should have gone into selling SATAY at Klang.
Was told a guy selling SATAY now owning a $8 Million mansion - easy money.
Eat and shit) Ok...... back to LIMA.

There many Russia's pilots and visitors came to me to give and exchange collar pins with me. That was where my problem started.
I went back to them to get MORE.

I got hook on their pins. Why is so unique about their pins?

The pins are like stamps but in 3D from and very limited in circulation.
With stamp anybody can go in the post office to buy it. Russia's pin you can't. They were issued to commemorate certain important and historical event.
Most important during the communist era, they were only issued to members.
So it was a privilege to own this pin.
They were like "medals". So they are really limited and rare.

I believe in making $ from hobby to enjoy it.
So I spent a fortune on these Russia pins alone.
So….. so tell your wife , I sold off my apartment for some of these pins.
Guess what I can do with these pins?

My latest acquisition are the Buran spaceshuttle pins set. I am one of the proud 11 worldwide owners of the below pin that went on to a space mission.

Do you know the Buran is coming to Malaysia next year?

Guess I have something very interesting to show the public on my avaition and space pin collection!

Bleach is a great comic, i read it though until book #22, but not watching the anime. Kubo Tite is one of my favourite arthor.

U read "death note"? The movie is out, and coming soon to Malaysia. :lol:

I like Bleach oso...but i watch its Anime series instead of comics....

Currently, Bleach has gone to its 100th episode....BANKAI!!! :lol:
