Mr. B:
Did you think these 3 figures can be applied to my Black Hawk as a Crew and Gunner?
mr b - October 18, 2006 11:29 PM (GMT)
Thanks for the comments guys
Aidy - The crew wires are strands of copper wire rapped around a toothpick for the coil effect
Wuichong - Will try and post a few more pics of the panels ...and stuff.......and not too sure figures oob can be used or not....their armor plate and helmets might be diffrent....there is a link on FSM see if this helps u out ....

Good looking cockpit Mr B. Sure would appreciate some close-ups of the instrument panels.
You guys are tempting to start my Huey. Alamak! :( On sesond thoughts, maybe my Chinook.
PoohBear - October 19, 2006 02:59 AM (GMT)
Yes, pics of the IP please!!
Since you added the communications wire plug, any chance of adding the mouthpiece mike to the figures?
@ Argrillion - just multitask and do both the Huey & Chinook... :P

Just noticed the dedicated huey forum!
By the way, there are two huey threads left on the bottom of the WIP aircraft forum. Maybe the mods could bring them over?
mr b - October 19, 2006 11:59 AM (GMT)
What a pleasing suprise..................got worried for a minute when my thread could not be seen.......tought I did something wrong and got it pulled.......! :)
Arg- Since you put us into a different g/b session ....I think the huey of yours needs to hit the bench........if its 1/35 all the better........the chinook can wait ....:)
Poohbear & Arg- Yep the IP will follow when there is some decent light
Poohbear- The mics are a welcome idea......will look at that .....to be added........
Updates will follow......too tired to do anything today ........:(

Updated 23/10/06- Brutus not words only this time :)
Got the cockpit finished minus mic for the door gunner (need to put that on) thanks for the suggestion poohbear.....put in the bench seat as I think the version I want to do has mini guns........and it looks much better with the seats in the rear <_<
Started and completed the engine and bay........cut out the plastic mesh/netting on the engine cover and fusalge.....to sub it with kelambu?
If all goes well can put the fuslages together..........
Hope you guys like......

You're most welcome to the suggestion mr b. Glad to help your built out.
It's looking nice and the weathering looks good too. Mine looks like it just came from the laundry comparing..
What did you use for the mesh covers?
mr b - October 31, 2006 12:32 PM (GMT)
Poohbear- Thanks for the nice words....too me a vietnam huey must be dirty ....and used....:) but sometimes when you think of it a laundry "effect" might go down well as well.........:)
as for the mesh .....used netting from a strainer ....cut out to shape n glued in place.....(if you are meaning the engine mesh on the sides) if you are refering to the engine inlet screens they are OOB dry brushed with silver n washed with burnt sienna mix
more pics over the weekend

B.. Looking real good.. more photos please... :D
G-man - November 1, 2006 04:19 AM (GMT)
This is looking real good Mr. B. The used and abused paintwork is really spot on. :D
mr b - November 1, 2006 12:23 PM (GMT)
thanks master and g-man
much obliged .....
poohbear - u can also get the small mesh green colour used to be like mosquito netting....that will do the trick in 1/35 as well........my local hardware did not have that fine mesh so opted for a strainer.....:)
