Title: MG 1/100 RMS-106 HiZack
Description: conversion into AoZ pre production type
xamel1975 - August 8, 2006 04:13 AM (GMT)
Hopefully will be in time for year end BAKUC ^_^ . This will be the most extensive modification work that I've made so far.
The base kit will be the RMS-106 HiZack. Conversion to be carried out to change into
YRMS-105 HiZack Pre-Production type - Titans Test Team version.
I'm trying to achieve
this look.
1st order of the menu: The bottom of the backpack was cut. It didn't show much change, though.
The comparison before (left) and after (right)

Initial modification on the torso have been complete. I still need to add a few layers of styrene sheet on the sides to achieve a beefier(?) look.

Added 1 mm styrene on each side of the torso.

The head have been modified to give the HiZack a more "fierce" look. I use the 1mm styrene sheet on top of the visor.

The shoulder spike received a treatment as well. I took the 'stub' (see the red arrow) from the old Bandai's 1/100 scale HiZack (on left). The MG 'stub' seems to be too short.

The 'stub' added on top of the original MG 'stub'. Later I will fill in the gaps with Epoxy putty.
There'll be more parts from the old kit will be used in this build.

Modify the pilot hatch
How it looks on the torso
I've also took out the 'lens' on the left chest.

The shoulder guard spikes are too slim and tall. I changed them but cutting them off and replaced them with Zaku II's spikes. Looks bigger and meaner now.

Pictorial reference of the pilots...
Right: Wes Murphy;
Left: Carl Matsubara
... and the donor/candidate for Carl Matsubara. I'll be using Trowa Barton figure (from Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz) as he has the closest build-up of Carl Matsubara.

I have yet to find the suitable donor/candidate for Wes Murphy figure.

xamel,
very impressive! You are the first person to show a MSV of one of my favourite MS. :D
I think the Hizack is the best design of what a Zaku should look like, realistically. Anything further and it will be a Geara Doga....
and to have a Titans prototype version... :D :D :D
You just made my day, dude!
Can't wait for more updates....
Ken

Glad I made your day, Captain. :)
Currently I'm busy with commission work right now. Hopefully by next week I can get this project up and running again.

Thanks, rivanic. Looking at my last update, I noticed that I took me more than half a year to give a new update  . I want to finish this build 'cos it's already been delayed for too long.
I joined 2 groupbuild with this kit. I missed the first one's deadline and looks like I'm gonna miss the second Groupbuild's deadline too (which is on 4th May 2007) .
Edit: Deadline has been extended to 4th May

Itsy bitsy update:
More work on the legs. I lined the surface it bits of 1mm pla-plate. Then, I fill up the remaining gaps with epoxy putty. The reason why I line the surface with 1mm pla-plate because I want to make sure there are no uneven surfaces.

Minor work on the thigh.

The leg part is still far from completion...
