Hi all,

For those building the Hasegawa F-14, I think you may find this interesting.

The Hasegawa kit's intakes come with positional ramps and but the settings given is for supersonic flight. I came across the following picture at the M.A.T.S F-14 website (acknowledgment to M.A.T.S) on the settings of the F-14 intake Ramps.

I think in most cases, especially if you are building a F-14 on the ground, the subsonic ramp setting should be used. To do this, do not install the front ramp actuator and trim of the first actuator locating point and glue the ramp flat onto the fuselage. For the rear ramp, cut off a bit of the actuator to raise the ramp up a bit. Voila, ramps in subsonic setting.

Hi Kuman,

From my test fittings, the default setting on the Hasegawa F-14 is the Supersonic setting, ie ramps in the lowest position.

Guys,

not to worry, there are pictures of the Tomcat landed or parked with ramps positioned in supersonic setting.

No worries & carry on :)
