Hi All,

Next to sculpting the next logical step is to painting. Here are some good reference sites for painting ranging from painting faces to painting camo. I hope that this list will be expanded in time to come by forumers.

Color mixes for Ethnic skintones?
Step by step for Face painting using oils
Shadows & Highlights Using Vallejo colors
General painting guide mainly for miniatures
Good site with several painting articles as well as sculpting ones plus camo painting
Excellent step by step on painting German splinter camo by Jaume Ortiz
A good reference site for camo patterns for World Armed Forces

Hopefully there are no blind links. I'll be adding more later on and hope to see contributions from forumers.

In addition to a link to Vallejo webpage mentioned by RX-78-2 in the figure forum on acrylics here is another painting link with several interesting How-To articles including one on figure conversions:

Several How-To Articles

The next one is a mix of both painting tips and figure related stuff including a fair bit on minis. Nice links as well.

Thanks, and very useful. ;)

beachbum - August 5, 2006 01:50 AM (GMT)
Your are very welcome Wuichong. If you need any other reference on modern camo patterns you will find it in my last link of my 1st. post.

Don't get me wrong Lee, I do appreciate your reply but we hope that all readers will contribute here as well so we would like to keep the resource for posting links and discussions on them only.

Thanks again Lee and hope to see some links from you as well.

To Loo,

I could not click to go back to the homepage to access other uniforms from the webpage that you gave. Might just be my computer though.

To Sabrejet,

Thank you for your good reference. Its much appreciated although to be fair to source and as an info for members here who may like to purchase this info/book, perhaps you can quote the source as well. Also one can never be too careful with all this copyright nonsense about. :)

Thank you Gentlemen and keep them coming.

I have located the homepage, but unfortunately, they have decided to sell the images in CD and not posting it on site. I managed to download a lot of the images earlier, but for those who are still interested, the site is here

Beachmaster ,
The RAID is no more in circulation. These are 1993 copies. The best copy I have covers the Israeli Army. Man, just look at all those pics in the mag makes you want to paint figures and give up on aircraft.

PS Can I? Just a few more color plates and we'll call it quits?

beachbum - September 1, 2006 07:09 AM (GMT)
Your colorful contributions are more than welcome and always appreciated here as 1 picture is better than a thousand words. As long as some credit is given to the source we should be able to avoid any legal SAM's and flak. :)

Fire at will. BTW does this mean we will be able to see you more often at the Figure section? ;)

Beachmaster,

Boy,you gonna be happy for letting me loose.

Dear Friends,
This is the last of my RAIDS collection. I've ten more mags but they were early issues without these color plates. Hope you enjoy the read.
