If I have any language that goes over the top, tell me and I'll edit it. The language is nothing bad at all, in fact, I even hear this language in PG movies. o.o;
Anyhoo, please comment...
Here's chapter one...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The day was no better than yesterday, Fiona Lessenger quickly trotted off to school as she watched the school bus drive down the street. Her intense blue eyes rolled on continuously as another messed day had once gain arrived, gift wrapped on her doorstep.
Thoughts of how her teacher would look onto this swarmed through her mind as she made past the first stop sign, jogging.
The morning started as the past few others, her mother was missing from the household, no doubt with her ‘friends.’ hades, her mother was so addicted to drugs themselves, she’d go with anybody who mentioned them.
It wasn’t common for her mom to come home, actually clean, which no doubt caused resentment for both parents (Though she’d much prefer her dad over her mom any day.). Her father divorced Fiona’s mother right before the problem got really bad, and moved to New York. It’s not like Fiona doesn’t try to talk to her father, it’s just most of the time, things tend to get bitter between the two.
Her brother on the other hand, had their mother’s brains…addicted to drugs, and alcohol, but seemed to stay home and wallow in his own depression with his friends.
As her thoughts drifted on her past issues with her family, she began to see, in clear view, her school. Kids were laden about the area, cursing, dissing each other, whilst the people next to them made out, talked about their futures together…It was really pathetic.
By the time Fiona always finished school for the day, she felt drunk. The people around her were so carefree about their lives, while having so much to worry about.
However, this was coming from a girl who feared death itself, yet thought of suicide constantly. Her life wasn’t worth living…
As she stepped onto the school’s campus, she began to avert her eyes from the people who gawked at her as she paced on by.
- Later; Time: 12:06 ; Half way through the day…
She couldn’t stand to be with other people, let alone eat the food that was served in the cafeteria. Fiona’s blue eyes glanced over towards the outside world, watching the clouds slowly drift by as the wind brushed up against the window.
“Thank god school is almost over…” She tapped her fingers as she slowly brought her other hand to rest upon her knees, which were brought in close to her fist.
“I’d much prefer to die though, rather than being with the many preps that run to and fro’.” She shifted her glances towards the cafeteria window, watching some of the many preps walk about, flirting with all the guys in sight and range of them.
After quickly shuddering, she glanced over her shoulder, arching an eyebrow, at a young boy, who was sitting about, outside of the cafeteria; beside him was yet another young boy, both talking away.
Curious, yes, which caused Fiona to tip forward, at least trying to catch a glimpse of what they were talking about, her blue eyes scanning the two ‘others’ who had somehow caught her eye. Especially the shorter one…
Their voices were muffled from the distance as they whispered, by they whispered in an empty hallway, where no one dared to lurk about, was beyond her.
After about five minutes of trying to listen in on the conversation, the taller one of the two boys noticed Fiona, leaning a few good feet away from them.
All she heard, which was spoken rather loudly, still in a whisper, however, “Hey Billie…” The rest seemed, once again muffled, only able to actually, clearly hear the word ‘girl.’
As the shorter one turned completely around, taking a good look at Fiona, she shifted his attention back to the taller boy, and continued whispering.
Fiona then gave up, she had got what she subconsciously wanted, which was for someone to actually look at her, not just any ‘someone,’ but a boy…
She then got back to a normal posture, leaning her head against the wall, closing her eyes to the sound of the mixture of bright and dark punk rock songs…
“Idiotic boys, never know when to stop staring…” Fiona said under her breathe as she narrowed one of her eyes open, glancing at the two boys, who stared at her.
As these words escaped her mouth, both of the two, young boys, walked over…
“Hey, girl…” This voice , that was apparently coming from the shorter one, awoke Fiona from her daydreams…
As she glanced up, actually getting a better look at the two…she found it actually quite funny to see both up close.
The taller one, was of course muscular whilst the shorter one, seemed a tad bit cuter, though the tall one seemed pretty cute…
“Is there a problem?” Fiona sat upright, glaring at the two as her blue eyes seemed to twinkle greatly, both fists clenching as the two of them laughed.
“Hey, we aren’t here to pick a fight with you, which just wouldn’t be very proper of us. We’d at least wait till after school.” The taller one said with a sneer as the shorter one snickered to himself.
“ Excuse me…is there truly a difference between smacking down a girl at school and smacking a girl in private?” Fiona huffed and simply looked at the two, eyebrows furrowed and her eyes not leaving the two of them.
The tall one snickered and replied, “ Yeah, you aren’t getting in trouble if you do it in private.”
“Not if the girl reports you?” Fiona sneered.
“Proof?”
“Oh, say maybe the big bruise somewhere about her body.”
“Not if we don’t hit her hard.”
“Oh? But wouldn’t just the whole fact of a woman standing, bawling and screaming about her boyfriend and how he beats her enough to get the police up and running.”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Haven’t flashed them yet.”
The whole conversation went on between young Fiona and the tall boy, who seemed to have the upper hand in the conversation.
“Anyway…I’m Mike, this is my pal Billie Joe.” This ‘Mike’ extended his hand towards Fiona, who, without a moment’s hesitation, shunned the offer, pushing the hand away.
“I’m Fiona, not truly nice to meet you…”
“`Ey, you ain’t a perfect image yerself, sister.” The shorter one (Known as Billie.) finally replied, tilting his head at Fiona, who seemed slightly bewildered by his height at his apparent age.
“Well, Billie…just a question…Why in all hades are you less than my height at age fourteen?” Fiona sneered.
“ Who the heck told you my age?” Billie took a step forward, as if about to hit her, however, judging by his relaxed body’s posture.
“Oh? You aren’t fourteen? Aw, that’s a shame.”
“I am fourteen, but what would give the idea that I am?”
“Just the simple fact that you’re shorter than me gave a good impression.”
“But aren’t there seniors who’re my height?” Billie than cocked his head at young Fiona who leaned back against the wall after figuring these two boys weren’t much of a threat to her.
Fiona chortled at was to come out of her mouth next as her eyes drifted to the ground, “ Nah, maybe a few, but you’re just one in a million.”
Mike watched as his own friend was getting twisted around by a young, attractive girl, odd though, seemed like Billie wasn’t really trying.
His mouth opened, as if going to say something, but as few words escaped his mouth, the bell sadly rang, and school was back on.
“Heh. That’s my que, shrimp, later.” Fiona got up, grabbing the backpack which was under the seat the whole time as she took off towards the next class…
“That’s…one odd girl…” Mike said as he arched an eyebrow at Billie, who seemed to keep his eyes on Fiona as she left.
“You’re telling me.” Billie replied as he too picked up his backpack, making pace in the opposite direction.
-Later that day…after school; 3:02 PM
Fiona paced down the steps, glancing at the school bus, which was being loaded with swarms of kids, some of which she recognized, “Dear lord, not shorty and tall-boy again.” She muttered incoherently as she walked over towards the two, Mike and Billie…
“Yo boys.” Fiona, had actually put a smile on her face, with looked rather crooked to both Mike and Billie’s disliking, but they went on, replying to her greeting, nicely. Well, as nice as they could at least.
“Hey girl.” Mike smiled
“ `Ey fatty.” Billie sneered, rolling his eyes at Fiona, who, at this comment, had her eyes calmly closed as her fists clenched, trembling quite a bit.
“Better fat than short.” Fiona snickered at her own comment in a imitating way of how Billie snickers at his own.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me shorty.”
“I’m not short, I’m just…”
“Not as tall as me?”
“Nah, you’re just having massive amounts of brain farts to where you can’t even think straight.”
“You sure?”
“Not as sure as I was two minutes ago.”
“Kay.”
Both Billie and Fiona eyed each other evilly as the bus began to roll off, between this time, Mike had tried to get Billie’s attention, who seemed to be lost within Fiona’s gaze.
“Billie…Hey Billie…Billie…” Mike raised his head towards the two of them, “Billie, we frikkin’ missed the bus.”
Fiona rolled her eyes, obviously untouched mentally by Mike’s sad ways, “Why not just walk home, shorty –My name is Billie, Idiot.- Fine… Billie Idiot, looks like he needs the exercise.” Fiona started walking home, chucking her bag over her shoulder, feeling the pressure of her books press against her skin.
“Guess we’ll have to now. See ya later…Erm, what’s your name?” Mike looked bewildered at the girl’s spirit, he could give her credit for actually having spunk, it was attractive, especially to Billie, for some reason.
“My name’s Fiona, and hopefully, we won’t be meeting each other again…” Fiona continued home, back faced from the two, her eyes never looked back, nor did she feel like it.
As both, Billie Joe and Mike watched Fiona stroll off, Mike shifted his eyes onto Billie, looking down on him, “Well?”
Billie glanced up at Mike, “Well what?”
“You like her don’t you…?” Mike leaned over towards Billie, arching an eyebrow as he watched Billie back away from him, with a ‘You gotta be kidding me’ look.
“Heck no, she’s a freak.” Billie retorted, arms folded into place as he watched Mike shake his head.
“Like us?”
“Mike, do you know what ‘awkward’ means?”
“Do you know what ‘alike’ means, Billie?”
“Why yes, I do, but alike would be one heck of a way to put it.” Billie sighed as he looked at Fiona, who was disappearing into the horizon as they spoke, “Well, shall we go, or are we just goin’ to stand here like hopeless idiots?”
- Twenty minutes later…Fiona’s house… 3:30
Fiona entered her house, to find her brother laying on the sofa, upside down as he gazed at his friends, who were snapping back at each other for the hades of it. After rolling her eyes at them, she climbed the stares in a sluggish way, scanning the hallway as she entered her room.
Dropping her backpack, she plopped onto her bed; face buried into her black pillow, then, in a moment’s notice, glanced around her room (Of course lifting her head up.).
Her room was completely gothic, words written on her black walls in colors such as blood red and white, posters of local bands, television located right by her bed, surrounding it were the several wires which hung over her bed at some point.
“I can’t believe somebody actually talked to me…” Her eyes closed, head going back into the comfort of her pillow, arm against her dresser, which was inches away from her bed.
Slowly, young Fiona fell asleep, dreaming off nothing of importance to you, just her past, having more so of a nightmare however.
- Three Hours Later…6:30
Fiona awoke to the sound of her brother yelling and cracking up as his friends began to walk out the door, her eyes slowly opened and drifted off towards her opened door. “Some one came in?” Her body movements were slowly as she got up, glancing in the corner.
“Phew…It’s only my cat…” She glared at her black and white cat, which rubbed up against the many things in her room, meowing as it went along its merry way towards her.
Picking her cat up, she quickly strolled by her backpack, taking out her math book, “Good thing that’s the only thing of homework I have tonight. Don’t think I’d be able to concentrate with idiot yelling down there.” She let her cat down, watching it scurry off down stairs, and with no effort needed, she started working on her math homework, humming as she went along.
Once done, which was two hours later from the many stops she had to do, she glanced at her bed, which was across the room, and paced over there, plopping once again on her bed…falling asleep.
