Nancy Drew: The Movieby Girl SleuthThere has been alot of speculation concerning the upcoming movie,
Nancy Drew: Mystery in Hollywood Hills, due in theatres August 10, 2007.
Although I can’t tell you whether or not Emma Roberts will make a good Nancy Drew, I can tell you this.
The story follows 15 year old Nancy Drew as she moves from River Heights to Hollywood, California. Nancy unravels a century-old unsolved murder mystery of famous Hollywood actress Dehlia Draycott.
“There's never been a murder in a Nancy Drew book—it was either solving a mystery about something or maybe somebody was murdered but they never solved the murder. This is the first one,” Roberts said in an interview with Scholastic News.
Although the story has been modernized to appeal to younger fans, Nancy’s characters resembles that of the orginal Nancy Drew series. “I think the really cool thing about it is that we're keeping the character the same. She dresses in her old-fashioned clothes…” said Emma.
Nancy solves the mystery alongside her traditional sideckicks: Bess Marvin (Amy Bruckner) and George Fayne (Kay Panabaker)... and some new ones, such as Corky played by Josh Flitter (
Greatest Game Ever Played.)
Other cast includes Max Thieriot as Ned Nickerson, Kelly Vitz as Trish, Daniella Monet as Inga, and Tate Donovan as Nancy’s father, Carson Drew.

Curse of Blackmoor Manor - A Must!by CelisaPicking one of the thirteen Nancy Drew games is a hard choice, but in the end I chose game number eleven: Curse of Blackmoor Manor. When I first went to Best Buy to pick out my next Nancy Drew game, I had the choice between the Haunted Carousel and of course, the Curse of Blackmoor Manor. The decision wasn't hard. CBM jumped out at me immediately, and next thing I knew, I was in the line with my money out and ready, the game tucked under my arm.
As soon as I started playing the game, I knew I would love it. It hooks you immediately with interest from the beginning. There is always initial excitement when you're just starting an ND game, but this one had an additional spark. As I went through the game, there were some pretty spooky parts, but they just added to the fun and effect of the game.
The graphics and detail in the game are excellent. They didn't spend too much time just on graphics, though, like other games. They paid equal or greater attention to the puzzles and gameplay. For me, out of the newer games, which are usually a lot easier then the older, this was the right mix.
Overall, I would rate this game 6 out of 5 stars. The plot is excellent, the characters are well done, and the puzzles are just the right mix of tough and easy. CBM is one of the best games out there.
