Hi All,
I have just read a reply to my introduce yourself note regarding the smoothnes of ride in my Daimler Double Six.

This has prompted me to ask "Is the Jag V12 Saloon the smoothest, quietest, comfyest of them all ? old and new ? I would find it hard to believe there is a beter ride out there...

All views and opinions welcome.

Regards
Steve.

Hi

Yes, yes, yes ,yes ,yes. The XJ12 Jag is the smoothest jag i have driven in and i have had my fair share. My XJ12 is a Cushion of air like most of them (hence why i called her Cushion).

Thats why 4 years ago i sold my X300 Sov. and bought an XJ12 Series 3 5.3, much nicer ride than the 4.0 litre.

Regards to the comfyest. Well put it this way....My son and wife are asleep within 10 minutes of getting in the car.

I think it would be hard to find as jag that drives as nice. I have XJS Celeb..it's a nice ride but does not compare to The XJ12 sov.

So again Yes I agree with you views 100%

Well Steve, I've never been in a V12 either?

But before you put it on Ebay, why don't we compare old with new? Obviously, mine isn't the top-of-the-range, merely a 'chav' X350, well a 'SE' chav anyhow.

It would be interesting to see the differences, we could even do a article for the main club magazine.

The XJ12 was always my dream car, though I've always been a Jaguar fan, not a Daimler one, it annoys me that the Daimler name is associated with the 'top' models, Jaguars should sell themselves. Anyway, that's my opinion...

I'd buy it (or Ian's) off you tomorrow if I had the space to keep it, but sadly my Jag doesn't see daylight very often, so 2 expensive toys would be impossible to justify to the financial administrator (wife).

But have a think about the above...

actually my best ride was a--- whoops got carried away there totally different topic ,apologies to all V12 yes must admit one of the best, no the best silent smooth sweet engine ever made,I could never hear the crank on starting as it seemed to fire up as i inserted the key, totally loved mine and miss it terribly. what i don,t miss is the maintenance , the plugs are a nightmare and if you drop anything whilst working on the engine forget it, it vanishes into the great abyss known as the v12 but still an engineering masterpiece.
