Well ,why did you?. I bought mine because It was a classic, cheap, right time right place.Oh and my wife decided to let me have It.Well It does keep me out of the pub  .
Good question...
I thought I'd got Jaguar ownership out of my system after part exing my 3.2 XJ40 for a PT Cruiser. After 2 years of Chrysler ownership, with mixed feelings - it was VERY practical with folding and even removable rear seats and it had a great retro vibe - we were stuck on the M5 one day as a Jaguar Racing Green X350 glided silently passed us in a jam. Well, that was it, all the old feelings came back and I had to have one!
However, the years of modifying my cruiser had stayed with me, and my XJ isn't standard any more! Although some of the modifications have remained in the garage after being delivered, some things seem like a good idea after a pint or two of refreshment!
well. i did have a x300 4.0 sov but i wanted an XJ12 series 3. So i sold my x300 and bought one 5 years ago. shes a beautiful car. she has got all the extras. It is westminster blue and has saville grey interior. the interior is in A+ condition, as they all should be. she is original but has had a few minor bits done to it, to keep her looking gorgeous, which she does.
she originally came from creamers in kensington and was chauffer driven for many years until the owner bought a more modern jaguar.
The car was registered in 1992, which will make it one of the last to be made..but it is not the last as i have contacted them and got all the information which was on record.
Im not just saying this but its got to be the nicest jaguar i have driven in. shes like a cushion of air, such a pleasure to drive.
Then after a few years i wanted a different one, but this time one that was more fun to drive and had more of a kick when i was in it.
So i put an advertisement on the jec website and in the magazine.
[I]Wanted Jaguar XJS Celebration Convertible. Must be in good condition and i put any colour apart BRG + INTERIOR MUST BE GOOD
Even though i put Any colour i really wanted a Sapphire Blue one as they look stunning.
So i thought nothing else of it, until one night a gentleman from Ashford contacted me having seen my add on the website.
He told me about his car what it was etc. and then told me the colour. my first thoughts where RED!! so i arranged to go down and have a look at this car. i was not building my hopes up as some people go to places only to be dissapointed, which i must say i have been on more than one occasion.
So we drove down and got there with no problems (thanks to the sat nav for all her work). we had arrived.
The gentleman came out introduced himself and that was that. It was time to see the car.
He took us into his garage, which was more like a house. The car was covered.
He took the cover right off and i was shocked it was Carnival Red. It looked absolutely emmaculate i was so impressed. My youngest son so my face and whispered to his mum "i know where that car is going" and he was right it was going home to my house where it belonged in my garage.
So i left a deposit and arranged to pick it up in a few weeks
So a few weeks later we flew down to heathrow where Mr milligan met us and went back to his house for Breakfast.
Then it was time to head home in the new purchase. well that was it me and my wife(sharon) where away "cruisin" with the roof down. I fell in love with the car as soon as i saw it.
I havent been to any car shows in it yet as when i bought the car the showing season was almost drawing to an end. I have only drove the car on Club events etc.
But this year i intend to show her off because that is what she deserves.
I am thinking about selling my series three as i would like an old S-Type to play around with.
Or another option is kicking the wife and kids out and making my house one big garage so i can have a collection of jags (only joking)
Well thats about it
Sorry if i have bored you but i think it so interesting reading about how members came across their jaguars and what they have done to them.
If you are like me you will have alot to say
