The halloween party has begun; go there and enjoy yourself!

The site has FINALLY been re-vamped. It`s still quite sketchy, but we ask you to be patient we will slowly develop it further. If you have an suggestions, then by all means we`re all ears.

This also means that inactive members have been deleted to allow room for new members- If you have been deleted and are active, you have my apologies, and simply- claim your character once more.

If you are checking out this board for the first time (or not) and are wondering who is taken/free, you can check it out here

A few issues have arisen from the former plot. This will be addressed.

It`s been brought to my attention that people have been- understandably confused about where this is located (with both Grissom and Horatio involved.) This is based in Las Vegas- why Horatio is there, is addressed here and here.

Sliding silently out into the dieing light of Las Vegas, the wretched stench of ‘the fast life’ attacking his senses as soon as he left the comfortable (and none-to-better) shelter of the taxi that had (accommodatingly.. ) transported him from the local airport to his new destination; The Las Vegas Crime lab.

Turning idly to pay the taxi driver without further word in fear of what he`d himself would end up saying, he then turnt silently his hands moving down to his hips in his popular fashion. A motion of familiarity, of comfort. And though Horatio Caine would never dare let his unsure nerves betray him, he still admittingly doubted the change he had to make from the familiar close-knit relationship he had back in the Maimi crime lab. But that, was of irrelevance, and that in itself was part of the reason why he was now relocated. Though no one would ever outright say it.

His eyes dancing over the building a moment longer, his vision hued black from the shades which in familiar fashion, tinted and dulled the world about him. His lips wavered in an almost ironic grin, as he set forward once again, his black clad feet moving one in front of the other. His movements only seeming to amplify his mischievous expression as his lips parted in word.

“Home sweet home”

His rough voice moved across the otherwise noisy air like sandpaper against gravel. His hand, outstretched, briefly fanning across the buildings entrance before shoving his way into the relieving building from the heat of the dieing day. His attention simultaneously turning to the perpetually bright faced receptionist.

___________________________________________________

“- At the end of the hall you won`t be able to miss it”

The receptionist smiling in an almost not quite sincere manner pointed in aid towards the office he was meant to meet his new partner in crime at, so to speak. Smiling in turn, glancing at the female side long, his shades sliding down on his nose from the mortion as he responded with a brief. “Thank you” before shifting into motion once again.

How long ago was it actually? Two and a half weeks, since he was uprooted and told he`s be transferred. He didn`t see it coming, though reasonably he should have. He knew he had been transferred for his own good, or at least it was the excuse used. He never once questioned the motives of the decision however, or justification of it. Nor did he think that the crew would have any trouble continuing without him. It was simply nostalgic feelings.

He glanced to the side, feeling rather like tourest taking in the new attractions of an exciting new location. The stretching hall that streamed out in front of him, was purposely bare in decoration. The mundane walls had suddenly given to large glass panels revealing a very impressive lab that surpassed his own tenfold. His brows rose in the slightest manner in proof of his amazement.

Yalina Salas was where it began, and virtually where it ended. The attraction between the two was never hidden. As neither felt it should have been. The awkward situation was only amplified by the fact that two where in close quarters with one another. Working daily side-by-side, though both seemed to try their damnedest to avoid the other simply for self-preservation. That`s what got them in trouble. Though the fact that she was his brothers widow was frowned upon. It wasn`t reputable. And though the fact that there was attraction between the two could be nothing but frowned upon, it secretly needed to be stopped.

The lab fell behind him as he pushed on, the nature of the hall never changing in dress. Snaking around a sudden corner his eyes were drawn to the side once again, falling within a room, he assumed by nature to be the break room. Dressed with a basic circular table with multi chairs, a sink and counter to one side, completed with coffee machine, cupboards, and a fridge. A very nice flatscreen television stood in an easily viewable position along the other far wall. The room was oddly all but bare save for a single occupant who sat in the corner. His knees crossed, his eyes drawn down upon the table, to what looked like a cross word. He couldn`t help but wonder if he`d end up recognizing anyone within this building with time. Obviously- logically he would. But now it seemed far off. A stranger in an already established society.

His eyes falling forward once again, his mind drifting into his own thoughts. His brother was the main reason however. The reason he was now there. Raymond, it seems has succeeded in screwing up his life, one day at a time. Finally when his case was supposedly solved, when finally both he and his brother could set themselves to rest, Horatio found out one fatal flaw. His brother was still alive, now living in deep undercover. The fact that he held this knowledge was passed on by the very man who gave it to him. The word was spread quickly and it was decided that Horatio was an endangerment to his brothers case. And that it was proven in the past with Horatios steadfast nature that he couldn`t let laying dogs lie and that he would stir up trouble, and even search out his brother for answers. It was decided then that it was best if he was separated from his brother as much as possible. He was virtually banned from Maimi.

He stopped abruptly his eyes falling to the closed door that stood starkly in front of him. It was, literally, the last door down the hall. Knocking on the frame with the back of his knuckle, his eyes glancing over the name etched proudly cross the front ‘Gil Grissom’. He recognized the name. He had heard it a great many times before. Though he had never met the man in person. When he had worked beside two of his members of his team, he had taken it upon himself to study up on who they worked for, and where they worked. His lips pulled into an ironic grin recognizing the fact that then he never thought that he`d actually be at this exact location.

Waiting a moment longer his smile stilled, his vision scanning the frosted window to the door trying to spot any movements within. He knew he wasn`t late- or early for that matter. His being transferred was decided weeks before hand. Though still relatively short notice, long enough for someone to take notice. The office however seemed all but empty. Not about to awkwardly wait in the hall his hand slid to the door knob, hesitated one moment longer before opening the door.

Instantly a deep throated “Don`t worry be happy” tune broke the silent hussle of the crimelab. Stiffening in surprise, feeling his pulse jump at the unexpected noise, he turnt sharply looking behind him to find nothing, he glanced to the side, then upwards towards the source. A ‘Big Mouth Billy Bass’ Flapped in comedic relief greeting the newest member to the CSI team. His thin lips broke in a sly grin that marred his expression in hilarity.

Heading down the plainly decorated halls filled with workers Grissom hears the heavy glass door of the break room fall closed behind him.
He heads down the hall toward the lab, hearing the everyday muffled noises of the building all around him.

As he reaches closer to the entrance of the lab, he can faintly hear his Big mouth billy Bass go off, and heads further down the hall towards his office.

Grissom reaches his doorway to see the door opened and a stranger standing near the doorway.

He enters his office and puts his coffee cup down on his paperwork-covered desk.

Moving around to the front side of his desk, he quickly glances around his office to see that everything is still in it's place, as usual.
He then half sits on the front of his desk, one knee bent, and turns his attention back to the stranger in the doorway.

"How can I help you?"

Starting once again as someone quietly walked up behind him. Turning his eyes falling upon teh male as he shifted towards the desk with what appeared to be coffee in hand He figured by his nature that this was the owner of the office- and therefore Grissom. His smile stilled as he fell into a more business manner, ignoring the flustered 'skip-a-beat' feeling that still quickened his pulse. He questioned his instability.

Galcing back at the Bass once again, as it stilled and returned to being a rubber, and over shinny trophy above his door. He glanced at grissom side-long in mild question.

Removing his glasses, placing them within a pocket concealed within his black blazer. He turnt to face Grissom front on, his hands rested upon his hips, the soft almost velvet like materal of his dress pants shifting beneath his touch. He paused a moment longer his expression stilling, before breaking the silence with a deep throated.

"Horatio Caine, Maimi.."

He paused somehow feeling as though Grissom hadn`t been fully filled in. His lips twicthed into a hint of a grin resisting the urge to use this advantage to his.. advantage.

Grissom perks a brow slighty, trying to figure why someone from Miami is in his office in Vegas.

He turns sharply to grab a pile of papers from his desk--the memos he hadn't read-- and thumbs through them looking for an answer.
Finding the memo from a few weeks back informing him that Horatio would be joining the lab, he placed them back on his desk as he parts his lips slightly, breathing.

"welcome to the team, Horatio.
You're welcome to use my office as your own as long as you need."

Grissom then grabs his coffee cup again, and takes a sip. Then, still holding his cup he motions to the plastic bass atop the door frame.

"I hope it didn't startle you to much."

He then heads out of his office and towards the break room to drop off his coffee cup which is now empty.

Parting his lips in preparation to respond, he pauses before anything was voiced as Grissom stood and left the room without a further word. Watching him leave his eyes moved to the entrance of the door once again, his brow furrowing realizing that the bass had remained silent both in Grissoms entrace and exit.

Glancing around the office he didn`t know where to begin. An almost child like fascination youthened his face, as his expression almost seeming to glow. The random objects were over baring in numbers, and amazing in nature. Shifting to a shelf which was dedicated to random jarred specimens, he slowly sidestepped with the intent of memorizing everything, noting his environment. A common trait of Horatios- and of all CSIs perhaps.

It didn`t take him long to identify that Grissom had a deep fascination with insects. And it appears, beetles in particular. Display cases lined each wall. Pin, mounted, and labelled. At least one insect was visible no matter where you glanced. He stopped, a particular case catching his attention.

A stag beetle. It`s elytra a rusted brown color was spread apart revealing a delicate wingspan, which in itself was pinned open. The pattern that the wings revealed was ensnaring, and indeed caught his attention. He stared at it in fascination. Lipping silently to himself

Re-entering his office, this time without his coffee mug, grissom glances to the Odontalabis gazella specimin on his wall, then to Horatio who's studying it closely.

"for starters, why don't you fill me in about what brings you to Vegas?"

He moves to the back of the room, and takes a seat at his desk, waiting and watching Horatio take in his surroundings.

Turning at the sound of Grissom re-entering the room, he stood where he was, glancing at the male from the left of his desk. He stopped at his question, wondering how he could safely respond to the question. Obviously Grissom had a right to know why he was requested to take on a new member to his already established team. He was unsure however, how much was outlined in the memo he had recieved. He thought to himself, determining what could be said.

"It was in the best interest of various Maimi police forces for me to take leave for a while"

He paused not personaly wanting to get into it further, though he felt that Grissom wouldn`t question him further on the matter. Pausing a moment his fingers upon his hips still toying with the badge that was unfamilier in texture. Catching him off guard in a momentary mind lapse, he pulled his hand away from his side, causing his black blazer to fall closed over the royal blue dress shirt that fell off his broad shoulders.

"Tell me Gil Grissom, what brings you to Las Vegas?"

Grissom nods a little, realising that Horatio doesn't seem to want to get into his reasons very deeply.
Knowing he'll find out later from Horatio when he's more comfortable around the new surroundings, Grissom drops the topic.

He notices Horatio fingering his new badge, but doesn't mention anything about it.

Trying to get Horatio used to the place, he wonders what he should begin with.

"...you should go walk around.
Take a look at the lab, get used too the layout of the building so you don't get yourself mixed up when it counts."
